The Nordwestdeutsche Gesellschaft für Weltraumforschung run by Hans Kaiser in Eider Germany formally merges with the larger and more successful Gesellschaft für Weltraumforschung in Stuttgart, bringing an end to inter-societal rivalry in post-war German astronautical groups.
