Dr. Hugh L. Dryden, Deputy Administrator of NASA, took part in a number of discussions with European scientific community to assess space interest there and to indicate NASA's desire to work out possible cooperative space research programs.

A study of the guidance and control design for a variety of space missions began at the MIT Instrumentation Laboratory under a NASA contract.
