Thomas E. Diegelman

Thomas E. Diegelman is a NASA civil servant in the Mission Operations Directorate at the Johnson Space Center, Houston Texas. He is a graduate of SUNY at Buffalo, with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering (1972) and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, (1978). He as completed additional advanced degree studies at University of Houston, Clear Lake in Process Control Engineering, and Human Factors Engineering. He has been with NASA for 18 years as a project manager, system engineer, and a technology transfer manager. Mr. Diegelman was the project manager for the Shuttle Mission Trainer Upgrade, which refurbished the entire shuttle training facility, and reworked the maintenance and operations processes, yielding a substantial operations cost savings. Mr. Diegelman instituted key process changes in the Technology Transfer and Commercialization Office, and continues to participate in the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program.
