Lawrence E. Manning writes letter to Phillip Ellaby Cleator at the British Interplanetary Society in England telling him that the American Interplanetary Society is building two experimental rockets which they hope to fly in April of that year. Construction is being completed by G. Edward Pendray, Bernard Smith and Alfred Africano. The rocket #3 is built of aluminium and has a "thrust augmenter" designed by Prof. Alexander Klemin director of the Guggenheim School of Aeronautics. Rocket #4 is being built by John Shesta with Manning, Carl Ahrens and Alfred Best. It is described as "A multi nozzle tandem tank rocket, with an ingenious landing gear resembling four bladed wing of an autogyro." A third rocket was being built by H. Franklin Pierce and Nathan Carver.
