U.S.S.R. launched Intercosmos II into orbit with 1,169-km (726.4-mi) apogee, 200-km (124.3-mi) perigee, 98.4-min period, and 48.4° inclination to study ionosphere. Tass said equipment on board was designed in Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, and U.S.S.R. (B Sun, 12/27/69; GSFC SSR, 12/31/69)
