33 members of the newly incorporated British Interplanetary Society attend lectures at Bream House in London by Eric Burgess, "Principles of Rocket Propulsion" and Arthur C. Clarke, "Communication in Space." Clarke's lecture discusses communication methods and potential difficulties and the use of radar and pulse transmission. He also posits the idea that radar can be used as an altimeter for landing on the moon and planets.
