Intelsat-IV F-5 comsat, launched by NASA for Communications Satellite Corp. June 13, was adjudged successful by NASA. Satellite would reach permanent station over Indian Ocean at 61.4° east longitude in late July. (NASA prof off)

Institute of Navigation presented Thomas L. Thurlow Award to John P. Mayer, Chief of Manned Space Center's Mission Planning and Analysis Div., in recognition of his outstanding and continuing efforts in all facets of navigation from NASA Mercury missions through Apollo manned lunar landings.
