Sunday Express reports "Rocket That Was Meant for a Planet Explodes in Manchester". A rocket exploded and sent metal fragments into the crowd at a Manchester Interplanetary Society rocket launch gathering in Clayton Vale. Injured was Herbert Snelson of Clayton who was taken to hospital with a leg injury from a metal fragment. Mr M.G.E. Wade, secretary of the society was also slightly injured as was a "cinematograph photographer". Police intervened and further launches were cancelled. President Eric Burgess was on hand for demonstration which was "first of its kind".
