The Daily Herald reports "Rocketeer says the Racket Will Go On". Malcolm Wade, secretary of the Manchester Interplanetary Society told the newspaper that the society will continue to launch rockets but after the accident of the 27th March they would use a fuse and stand behind a brick wall. Wade told the newspaper that Eric Burgess founded the society the previous June and that there were 17 members from 14 to 20 years old.

The Daily Mail cited Eric Burgess as saying "If it causes people to take us seriously, then it may have been a good thing.". Secretary Malcolm Wade is quoted as saying that they had not broken any laws. The Manchester Guardian reported that two more boys had been slightly hurt.
