In the Bulletin of the BIS Arthur C. Clarke writes an article entitled "Radar and Astronomy".

The first post-war issue of New Worlds is published in England. The science fiction magazine will go on to become one of the most successful magazines of its kind in England. The magazine was edited by Edward John Carnell, ex-chairman of the British Interplanetary Society.


Kenneth Gatland chairman of the CBAS and now co-founder of the renewed BIS continues his summary of rocket propulsion in Practical Mechanics magazine. In this issues he talks about anti-ship missiles.
